The First Meeting of the Serbian National Coalition for Digital Inclusion

The National Coalition brought together representatives of relevant institutions and experts - decision-makers and policy creators at the national and local levels, representatives of schools, civil society organizations, research/academic institutions, organizations and companies from business sector, and individuals working on topics of digitalization and/or social inclusion.

The meeting was opened by Žaklina Veselinović from the Centre for Education Policy - CEP, followed by a presentation of the platform’s structure and objectives, as well as the project’s activities. The National Report for Serbia, prepared within the project, was presented to the participants. The report provides an initial analysis of the state of digital inclusion in Serbia.

The discussion aimed toward operationalization of the recommendations from the report and defining the action priorities of the National Coalition during the project. Directions for joint actions and opportunities for future initiatives were agreed upon. The meeting marked the beginning of ongoing cooperation in the upcoming period. Additional events will be organized to support knowledge exchange and development of recommendations that contribute to equitable access to digital technologies in Serbia.

The Digital Inclusion Initiative project addresses a critical aspect of modern participatory democracy - ensuring equal access to digital tools and information, which is essential for informed citizen participation and engagement in democratic processes, and deals with an important aspect of the EU integration process.
