The primary goal of the visit was to strengthen preparedness for the upcoming impact evaluation data collection. To achieve this, the teams worked jointly on the modification and adaptation of the questionnaire to the local context. This process included both linguistic and cultural adjustments to ensure clarity, relevance, and appropriateness for the target population.
In addition, the mentoring sessions covered key aspects of the data collection process, including methods of questionnaire administration, procedures for collecting data from both the intervention and comparison groups, participant selection strategies, and proper record-keeping. Careful consideration was given to anticipating potential challenges during fieldwork and identifying practical, actionable measures to effectively address them.
An important component of the visit was the pilot testing of the questionnaire. Following the first day of training, the YAHR team conducted a pilot with selected participants. This exercise provided practical experience, helping to identify areas for further refinement. The findings from the pilot will be used to improve both the questionnaire and the data collection approach ahead of the baseline phase.
Through this collaborative effort, proMENTE, KEC, and YAHR worked together to ensure that the data collection process is methodologically sound, contextually appropriate, and aligned with high research standards.
Mentoring support will continue in the upcoming period as part of the broader effort to ensure high-quality and ethically responsible implementation of impact evaluation activities across the region.
